Blackburn Rovers fans would have been fearing the worst for their play-off bid in the Championship when their talisman Bradley Dack had his season cut short with a serious-looking knee injury.

Dack had been in impressive form for Tony Mowbray's side this season, and scored ten goals and was on hand to provide three assists for Rovers before picking up the injury against Wigan Athletic in December.

Blackburn have managed to cope without Dack though, and are still in contention to finish inside the top-six in the second-tier standings, with only ten league games remaining of the season.

It does beg the question though as to where they would be in the Championship table if they had Dack available for selection this term.

Blackburn Rovers forward Dominic Samuel issued an update on Dack's progress in a post on his Instagram story on Tuesday, which will certainly bring a smile to the faces of the Ewood Park faithful.

Dack netted 18 goals last season for Rovers, and will be hoping he can make up for lost time when he does return to the first-team fold in the future.

Blackburn return to action this weekend when they take on Derby County, in what could be a tough test for Tony Mowbray's side as they look to keep their play-off hopes alive in the Championship this term.

The Verdict:

This is a positive update on Dack's fitness.

It seems highly unlikely that he'll be featuring anytime soon, but it's good to see that he's still working hard to get back to full fitness at the earliest of opportunities.

We already know that Dack is one of Blackburn's key players, and you have to feel that they would be in the top-six by now if they had him available for selection.

But they'll have to find a way to cope without him, and Adam Armstrong certainly seems to be stepping up to the mark when required for Tony Mowbray's side this season.
