Portsmouth's magnificent run of form continued at the weekend as they eased past non-league outfit Maidenhead United in the first round in the F.A Cup.

The Blues ran out 4-0 winners at York Road after goals from Ben Thompson, Oli Hawkins, Jamal Lowe and David Wheeler, securing Pompey's second win in a week.

The South Coast side also continue to lead the way in League One, and find themselves five points clear of third placed Peterborough United after 17 league games.

Ronan Curtis continued to show his class at the weekend, producing his 7th assist of the season to add to his impressive statistics in front of goal - six goals and seven assists in 17 games.

His form is likely to keep attracting the likes of Leeds United and Derby County, who have already declared an interest in the exciting attacker - and despite recently pledging his commitment to the Fratton Park club, a huge bid could be tempting for Kenny Jackett's men in January.

Pompey should perhaps look to prepare for life without Curtis, and a potential replacement for Curtis could come in the form of Notts County's Enzio Boldewijn.

Life has been tough for the Magpies in League Two this term - they have won just three of their opening 17 league games, and one of the division's sleeping giants currently sit just three points away from the relegation zone.

The Magpies, in a hectic summer spending spree, secured the signature of Boldewijn for a substantial six-figure fee from Crawley Town, and he has been the diamond amongst the rubble at Meadow Lane this term.

The winger, who similarly to Curtis can also play down the middle, displays so much pace and power on the flanks, and has quite frankly been Notts' only creative outlet this term - scoring three goals and producing three assists this season.

He can cross, he can score many different types of goals, and has so many tricks in his locker - staying in the bottom-half of League Two will be detrimental for his development, and he deserves better.

The Dutchman netted ten times and produced seven assists for Crawley last term, and would be a magnificent replacement for Curtis if he was to leave Pompey.
