Kenny Jackett is set to hold talks with Jordy Hiwula regarding the player's future at Portsmouth in the near future.

Hiwula made only 15 appearances for Coventry City as they won promotion from League One last season, and left the club upon the expiry of his contract at the end of the campaign.

The 26-year-old signed for Pompey in October, putting pen to paper on a short-term deal which will expire on the 20th of January.

Hiwula has since made four appearances for Portsmouth, scoring his only goal for the club in the 6-1 home win over King's Lynn in the FA Cup.

Hiwula has been left on the bench on six occasions and has made only two appearances in League One - both of those coming as substitute cameos.

Via Andrew Moon of BBC South, Kenny Jackett is set to sit down with Hiwula and discuss his future at Fratton Park beyond January.

Pompey sit fourth in League One, only four points off the automatic promotion places.

The Verdict

Hiwula has found it tough to properly settle in at Fratton Park it seems, and he has been unable to break into the team ahead of John Marquis.

Nevertheless, he's a quick, experienced option to have as back-up, and he can always come on and pop a goal in if needs be.

At 26, though, he needs to be playing regularly, and it remains to be seen whether that affects a decision next month.
