Portsmouth have done very well out of the lower leagues in recent seasons, with signings such as Ollie Hawkins and Jamal Lowe who both came from the non-league scene.

Hawkins was a capture from Dagenham of the National League, Lowe came from one division lower by leaving Hampton and Richmond for Pompey. Both have turned into solid League One players and maybe even Championship next season.

The talent within League Two is evident to anyone watching the division closely, with many young players from the higher divisions dropping down, as well as those emerging from the youth teams of the clubs themselves.

There's always the next big thing to be found in League Two, whether it is Marc McNulty or Christian Doidge from last season, or Kemar Roofe from a couple of years ago.

Here are two we think Portsmouth should be paying close attention to right now.

The former QPR midfielder is looking very impressive at Swindon this season, driving on from the midfielder and creating chances as well as goals.

He's 25-years old and would fit nicely behind the front man at Fratton Park in the bank of three Kenny Jackett likes to deploy.

Portsmouth missed out on Bruno Andrade, he went on trial there as a Boreham Wood player. Their loss has been Lincoln's gain, he's been incredibly impressive so far this season.

Raheem Sterling cited him as an inspiration during their time together at QPR and there's much more to come from the exciting wide man.

If they want a slow burner, one for the future, Harry Pickering is impressing hugely at Gresty Road for Crewe.

He's another midfielder, useful driving through and overlapping but also comfortable dictating play.

At 19-years old he could be the next big thing off the Crewe conveyor belt.
