League One clubs are notorious for bringing young Premier League stars into the game on loan.

The future Pompey manager, following Paul Cook's departure, won't turn down the opportunity to sign one or two from the top-flight, especially if they want to push for the top-half and potentially the play-offs.

Portsmouth should look to acquire Tottenham Hotspur winger Marcus Edwards on a season-long loan deal next year if they want to add pace and goals to their forward line in the third-tier.

Currently just 18-years-old, the youngster is highly-rated at the north London outfit as he's destined to one day star in the senior squad at White Hart Lane, but needs minutes on the pitch to progress.

He made ten appearances for Spurs' youth team in the 2016/17 campaign, bagging five goals and providing a further three -  a decent return.

Edwards was handed his competitive debut for his employer in the EFL Cup as a substitute in the 5-0 thrashing over League One club Gillingham.

Despite still being a teenager, this man needs to be acquired by Portsmouth simply because of the threat he opposes on the opposition, and that is something the south-coast side will demand in the league next season.
