Portsmouth eyeing Championship forward in quest for automatic promotion

Portsmouth are reportedly chasing Preston North End striker Eoin Doyle on a loan deal, according to reports from the Irish Sun.
The 28-year old has been unpopular amongst the Deepdale faithful since his permanent switch from Cardiff City in the summer, especially with a recent fight with fellow teammate Jermaine Beckford last month and scoring just 1 goal in 10 appearances for the Whites.
Bolton Wanderers are also said to be interested in the Irishman according to the report, however a switch to Fratton Park could be on the cards having played magnificently well under Blues boss Paul Cook at Chesterfield.
Doyle netted 11 times for the Spireites in their 2013/14 League Two promotion winning campaign, then went on to score a stunning 21 times in 26 games, as the Derbyshire club came agonisingly close to promotion from League One in the 2014/15 campaign.
Paul Cook’s men sit 4th in the EFL League Two standings, just 3 points off the automatic promotion places with a game in hand too.
