Portsmouth have been busy in the January transfer market so far, however Kenny Jackett and the board are still eyeing up two recruits in key areas to try and bolster the squad.
Portsmouth.co.uk are reporting that Jackett is interested in trying to bring a left-sided central defender to the club, as well as a right-back to Fratton Park as the club looks to break into the playoffs.
Barnsley’s Dimitri Cavare is thought to be a target of Jackett’s if he does choose to boost the right-back area, having lost backup defender Anton Walkes last week to MLS side Atlanta United.

The club’s current partnership at centre-back is Christian Burgess and loanee Sean Raggett, but cover is lacking on the south coast with Jack Whatmough on his way back from an 11-month injury and Paul Downing free to leave the club after just six months.
Pompey have already signed three players this month, bringing in left-back Steve Seddon on loan from Birmingham City, striker Reeco Hackett-Fairchild from National League side Bromley and central midfielder Cameron McGeehan on loan from Barnsley.
As the old football cliche states ‘Goals win you games, but clean sheets win you titles’ and Jackett is taking that on board as he tries to improve the defence at Fratton Park this January.
He will be busy identifying which players can come on board and make a difference to the side in the defensive department, and two new defenders to freshen things up at the back could be just the thing that Portsmouth needs to get into the playoff places.
