West Brom talisman Jay Rodriguez has come out and praised the Baggies fans following their 3-2 win over Preston North End this afternoon.

The win saw the Baggies go top of the pile in the Championship, and once again Rodriguez got himself on the scoresheet, notching his seventh of the season and once again drawing plenty of plaudits for his goalscoring form.

However, it was Rodriguez this time who reversed the roles, telling West Brom's official website just how grateful he is for the continued support of the Baggies fans.

"The away fans were brilliant, they were right behind us, and it does mean a lot to the players when we’re out there,” said Roedriguez. "It can be difficult at times but then you hear the fans and they’re producing a really good atmosphere.

“We’ll need that support again on Wednesday at another great stadium. It will be a nice night, hopefully.”

The former Southampton man appears to have really found his feet this season, leading the line alongside Dwight Gayle to fire Darren Moore's men right into the promotion picture as their partnership continues to blossom.

The win at Preston today was a much deserved one, with the 3-2 scoreline perhaps putting something of a gloss on it for North End, who were second best throughout much of the second half inparticular.

West Brom fans, what do you think? How good has Rodriguez been? Let us know in the comments!
