Brentford captain Pontus Jansson took to Instagram yesterday, after his side’s 3-1 win against their West London rivals Queens Park Rangers in the Championship.

Thomas Frank’s side won their third consecutive match in the Championship last night, with an impressive 3-1 win at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

Ollie Watkins opened the scoring in the first-half, heading past QPR’s Liam Kelly, before Grant Hall levelled things after the restart.

QPR manager Mark Warburton was left reeling at a penalty decision in the second-half, which Said Benrahma converted to put the Bees back in-front.

Watkins added a third in injury time, and his tenth of the season to seal a fine win in W12 for the Bees.

After the game, Bees skipper Pontus Jansson posted this message on Instagram:

Jansson, 28, joined the club from Leeds United in the summer in what was deemed a quality acquisition by Frank.

He became one of several Scandinavian players at the club, and has played every minute of Brentford’s Championship campaign so far this season.

Leeds fans were sad to see the Swede depart Elland Road, but his arrival at Griffin Park has made Brentford one of the best defensive sides in the Championship.

They’ve conceded just 12 goals in 14 so far this season, keeping four clean sheets - compared to 19 goals conceded and two clean sheets at this stage last season.

Brentford now occupy the mid-table perch in the Championship, and will host 20th-placed Huddersfield at the weekend as they look to make four-straight league wins for the first time since October 2015.
