Brentford's Pontus Jansson has welcomed the club's latest new addition - coach Andreas Georgson who will be arriving from the centre-back's former club Malmo.

The Bees announced on their official site that the Georgson will become their Head of Set Pieces and Individual Development in November, when the Swedish top-flight campaign comes to an end.

And, the news was picked up on by Jansson, who joined the Londoners from Leeds United in the summer. He sent a there-word tweet responding to the arrival, stating 'Welcome my friend!'

He is someone that the defender will know, as Georgson has spent the past 14 years with Malmo in various different roles.

They are the club that Jansson came through the ranks with as a youth player and he also made over 100 appearances for them over a five-year period before departing for Torino in 2014.

Whilst Georgson has only worked with the first-team for the past two years, he was with the academy for over a decade prior to that and will have seen Jansson develop as a player.

The verdict

This is good news for Jansson as the club have clearly brought someone in who he respects and that is a good thing from an individual perspective.

It's a quite specific role that Georgson is going to have and it is something that he is clearly ready for after spending 14 years with the Swedish giants.

This move won't go through for another few months but it seems as though he will be able to help the team when he does link up with them in November.
