Leeds United have been handed a fresh double injury concern ahead of their crucial play-off semi-final first leg against Derby County.

The Whites travel to Pride Park on Saturday night as they aim to seal another victory over Frank Lampard's side after their two victories earlier this season.

Marcelo Bielsa's men have been hampered by a string of injuries this season with Ezgjan Alioski and Barry Douglas both out for the rest of the season and key men Kemar Roofe and Liam Cooper missing matches in recent weeks.

It has now emerged that Tyler Roberts will miss the first leg, while centre-back Pontus Jansson is doubtful with an ankle injury ahead of the match.

Jansson has been a reliable presence for Leeds this season, featuring in every match since late January, and his absence would come as a significant blow to Leeds' defence.

The Swedish international has spoken out on his injury, claiming he is in pain, but will do all he can to play.

"I don't know what's said but it's a long season, I have pain everywhere," he said, as quoted by Phil Hay at the Yorkshire Evening Post.

"It's not a big thing but it's a little bit more today. But I'll play in a wheelchair if you want."

Jansson has made 39 league appearance for Leeds this season, scoring three goals in the process.

The Verdict

Leeds would miss Jansson's presence a lot if he is deemed unfit to play. It would further ruin their rhythm at a time where they are already going through a difficult patch.

However, Jansson's comments suggest he is determined to feature and feels he will be able to shake off the injury by Saturday.

Bielsa will certainly be hoping this is the case, as the last thing he needs is another absentee at this stage.
