The 2017/18 campaign was a major disappointment for Sheffield Wednesday, who failed to challenge for the Sky Bet Championship’s play-offs.

Despite top-six finishes in 2016 and 2017, Wednesday struggled to have an impact last season, with Jos Luhukay eventually guiding the Owls to 15th in a hugely underwhelming campaign.

Injuries were highlighted as the main factor behind Wednesday’s form, with the likes of Fernando Forestieri, Barry Bannan and Gary Hooper missing chunks of the season.

The latter didn’t feature post-Boxing Day, with the 30-year-old cutting a frustrated figure on the sidelines after a promising first-half of the season.

Hooper bagged 11 goals in 25 appearances across all competitions, with his form during the first-half of the season particularly encouraging.

Luhukay never had Hooper available to him, and with that in mind, we wanted to know if Sheffield Wednesday’s supporters believed the forward would be a guaranteed starter next season.

Unsurprisingly, 64% of supporters are expecting to see Hooper become a regular in Luhukay’s starting XI during the 2018/19.

Only 36% of voters in our poll aren’t expecting to see the 30-year-old starting regularly under the Dutchman.

Will Hooper have a big role to play next season? Let us know your thoughts!
