Ben Brereton has had a mixed start to his senior career with Nottingham Forest, with the forward still struggling for real consistency at the City Ground.

The 19-year-old is a real talent, but in 57 senior appearances for the Reds, he has returned just nine goals.

Last season, Brereton made 39 appearances across all competitions, but struggled for goals, finding the back of the net on just six occasions, with the teenager adding a further two assists to that tally.

On the whole, Forest struggled for goals last season, with Brereton not contributing nearly enough.

To address that, Aitor Karanka has brought Lewis Grabban on board, with the striker, who scored 20 goals last season, coming in with the view to spearheading Forest’s attack.

Here at FLW, we wanted to know what Forest’s supporters were thinking about Brereton now, asking whether they believe Karanka should keep the forward on board, or send him out on-loan for the 2018/19 campaign.

Voting in our poll was reasonably close, with Forest’s supporters torn.

61% of voters want to keep Brereton on board ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.

However, the remaining 39% want to see the inexperienced forward heading out on-loan.

Will Brereton benefit from a loan spell? Let us know your thoughts!
