There’s no doubt that Alex Mowatt and Will Hughes are both midfielders full of potential, with the ability to turn a game on its head.
Both players are 20-years-old, they both play in the centre of midfield and they are both starlets for their respective clubs. Also, with Derby County chasing promotion and Leeds United striving for a top-six spot this season, both players will be hoping for similar outcomes at the end of the season.
On face value, they are as similar as two players can get. But when you look at the way that they play and the way they can impact a game of football, differences might come to the fore.
In his career, Will Hughes has made more appearances than Mowatt, playing over 100 times for the Rams. However, Mowatt has already scored more goals than Hughes as they both strive to excel at their clubs.
Unfortunately for Derby County, Will Hughes has recently suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury, seeing him sidelined for most of the season. This is a huge blow for the youngster as he hopes to continue his career development when he returns to action.
However, what we want to know is: Who is better: Alex Mowatt or Will Hughes? Let us know in the comments below!
