Cardiff City are interested in signing West Bromwich Albion forward Charlie Austin on a season-long loan deal, according to the Telegraph.

Austin is a player attracting plenty of interest ahead of Friday's transfer deadline, with the striker currently out of favour at the Hawthorns.

The 31-year-old scored 11 goals in 38 appearances for West Brom last term, but failed to nail down a regular place in Slaven Bilic's side, finding regular game time hard to come by.

Austin is yet to feature in the Premier League for Albion this season, and a move away from the Hawthorns looks to be in the offing ahead of Friday evening.

According to the Telegraph, Cardiff City are interested in signing Austin on loan for the remainder of the campaign, with Neil Harris looking to bolster his side's attacking options.

Cardiff, who brought in Kieffer Moore earlier on in the summer, are also said to be in talks to sign Barnsley's Cauley Woodrow, with Austin also potentially arriving in South Wales.
