McHugh made 44 appearances for Bradford, scoring four goals and played a key part in the Bantams side that reached the League Cup final and won the League Two play-off final in 2013.

The Irish defender, who has made two appearances for the Republic of Ireland Under-21 side, started his career at Reading but never made an appearance for the Royals before signing for Bradford on a free transfer in August 2012.
