Plymouth Argyle transfer round-up: Ex-Premier League player set to sign, Ryan Lowe outlines remaining plans

on

Plymouth Argyle have had a busy summer so far in the transfer market and Ryan Lowe will be pleased with the additions that he has managed to make to his squad.

The Pilgrims will be looking to kick on next season in Sky Bet League One and potentially challenge at the sharp end of the table, though we’ll have to see how they get on there in the months to come.

Lowe has added to his defensive options in particular this transfer window ahead of the new campaign and, indeed, it’s us keeping with that theme that kicks off our Argyle transfer round-up below…

Galloway signing close

Brendan Galloway is close to signing with Argyle as manager Ryan Lowe looks to add another defender to his ranks this summer.

The former Everton youth player left Luton Town and is available on a free this summer, with Lowe telling the Plymouth Herald that the deal could be done as early as this afternoon.

Galloway has featured for the club in friendlies and it seems as though the trial period for the defender is going to prove a contract-winning one.

Lowe offers update

As per the Plymouth Herald, Lowe has said that there is no rush for further signings this summer once the Galloway deal has been completed.

He has been busy in the window adding to his Pilgrims side and it sounds as though he is pretty happy with the options he has got now for next season.

Lowe isn’t ruling out further additions but he has suggested that there is now no panic to add further ahead of the season beginning next month:

“But we did our business early in terms of what we needed and what we got in so there is no real rush.”

Lowe’s loan hint

Lowe did hint to the Plymouth Herald that the loan market may be one area where the club does look to add further if they do decide they want more players.

Again, though he has now said there is no rush for additions he seemed to indicate that business would be done if it was a good opportunity.

Specifically, it sounds as though the loan market could be a place of interest for him and the team:

“We have identified a few targets of loan players who could probably help us and come in and make that squad a bit thicker.”
