Sky Bet League Two side Plymouth Argyle are set to complete the signing of Bury winger Byron Moore, according to reports from Football Insider.
The 30-year-old is no stranger to Argyle boss Ryan Lowe, after helping his former side win automatic promotion to League One last season.
Dismal financial issues at Gigg Lane have put a real downer on what was a magnificent campaign last time out – Lowe left the club for Home Park last month, taking Danny Mayor, Dom Telford and Will Aimson all with him.
Bury players have been told that they can leave the club for free after going unpaid since March, as long as they give the club a fortnight’s notice.
Now, though, it looks as if Moore is set to become the fourth Bury player to join Argyle, with Lowe reportedly fighting off interest from other Football League sides to win the race for Moore.
The experienced wide-man also has experience of winning promotion to League One with Crewe Alexandra via the play-offs in 2012, and has since endured spells with Port Vale and Bristol Rovers.
It really doesn’t come as a surprise to me to see Lowe continue to raid Bury, as there are some very, very talented players up at Gigg Lane.
The situation that the Lancashire club currently find themselves in is heartbreaking, and Lowe will probably feel slightly bad for continuing to sign their players.
But in reality, who can blame him? He knows the players inside out, and he knows that they can help him and his new side win promotion to League One next term.
Argyle’s attack looks frightening ahead of next season.
