Ahead of their game against Scunthorpe United on Saturday, Plymouth Argyle manager Ryan Lowe has provided an injury update on his squad during the press conference.

Lowe confirmed via the club's official Twitter that central midfielder George Cooper is set to miss out this weekend with a broken nose and a crack on the cheekbone despite wanting to play with a face mask on.

One of Plymouth's main stars, creative midfielder Danny Mayor, is okay after being substituted with a sore groin during the Mansfield Town victory on the weekend, and striker Zak Rudden, on loan from Rangers, is back training after a recent knee injury.

Midfielder Jose Baxter is back on the pitch after a groin injury, while winger Byron Moore and striker Dominic Telford are both still sidelined with hamstring injuries and will miss this Saturday's clash with Scunthorpe at Home Park.

The Verdict:

Mayor being available for Lowe this weekend is huge for the Pilgrims as the midfielder looks to continue his fine form, while Cooper, Rudden and Baxter all being close to a return is sure to come of relief for the manager.

Moore and Telford are undoubtedly misses for the League Two side, but Plymouth have enough strength in depth to help cover them.
