Plymouth Argyle director of football Neil Dewsnip has revealed that the club have yet to receive any offers for goalkeeper Mike Cooper this summer.

Norwich City emerged as potential suitors for Cooper last month.

According to a report from Football Insider, the Canaries are currently keeping tabs on the keeper's situation at Home Park ahead of a possible swoop.

However, with Argyle not looking to sell the 22-year-old in the current transfer window, Norwich may have to switch their attention to other targets.

Cooper will be determined to help Plymouth push on in the third-tier next season after producing a host of impressive performances during the previous term.

As a result of his eye-catching displays, Cooper was named in the League One Team of the Season in April.

Having narrowly missed out on securing a place in the play-offs earlier this year, the Pilgrims will be hoping to make a positive start to the upcoming term under the guidance of manager Steve Schumacher.

Plymouth made their first signing of the current transfer window yesterday as they secured the services of Matt Butcher on a two-year deal.

Making reference to Cooper's current situation at the club, Dewsnip has admitted that the club have yet to receive any offers for the shot-stopper.

Asked by Plymouth Live about whether there have been any bids submitted for Cooper, Dewsnip said: "Nothing at all."

The Verdict

Plymouth will be hoping that another team doesn't decide to test their resolve by submitting an offer for Cooper as the keeper is a key member of their squad.

In the previous term, Cooper managed to claim an impressive total of 22 clean-sheets in all competitions for Argyle.

Having averaged a WhoScored match rating of 6.91 in the third-tier last season, the shot-stopper will be confident in his ability to deliver the goods in this division again during the upcoming term.

By securing the services of some classy operators between now and the start of the new campaign, there is no reason why Plymouth cannot go on to launch a push for promotion with Cooper in their side.
