Accrington Stanley and Sunderland played out an entertaining game last night in East Lancashire but it was the away side who eventually won all three points.

The Black Cats were looking to bounce back from their loss in the EFL Trophy final to Portsmouth just days prior and duly did that with a 3-0 win.

Certainly, it was a professional performance on a night where things could have tripped the club up and they are now three points off of Barnsley with two games in hand to play.

A fine way to kick off April for the Black Cats, then, and they'll be eager to keep that up across what is set to be a very hectic month for them.

Lynden Gooch is just one man that impressed, then, and he took to Twitter afterwards to reflect on the result.

This is the best of what has been said:

A good win, and they'll be looking to keep that up now.
