‘Please stay’, ‘Shame it didn’t work out’ – These Fulham fans react to player message following relegation

Ademola Lookman has revealed that he enjoyed his time at Fulham, even though the season ended in relegation.

The Cottagers will be playing in the Championship next season after a poor campaign that saw them ultimately end up 11 points from safety in the Premier League.

Despite the overall negativity, Lookman, who joined on loan from RB Leipzig, was one of few to emerge with any credit as he scored four goals and registered the same number of assists.

And, it appears the wide man appreciated how the club helped him, as he took to Twitter to send a message as he prepares to return to his parent club.

It’s been a long and challenging season filled with highs and lows, and although of course it ended for us in disappointment with us going down, I’ve loved every single minute of my time at Fulham. Thank you!”

That message went down well with the Fulham support, as they recognised the effort and commitment that Lookman put in during the past year, even if he made some mistakes too, including the notable penalty miss at West Ham.

Here we look at the reaction to his tweet, with many urging the 23-year-old to return for another spell next season…
