‘Please stay’, ‘Good to see’ – Many Huddersfield fans react to update from Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe

Arsenal loanee Emile Smith Rowe has taken to Twitter to reveal his joy at returning to training with Huddersfield Town, which has drawn an interesting reaction from fans of the Yorkshire club.

The 19-year-old joined the Terriers on loan until the end of the season in January and has been impressive so far.

Smith Rowe has featured 10 times for Danny Cowley’s side since making the switch, grabbing one goal and three assists.

The teenager is comfortable across the midfield but has been used centrally by Cowley and has been a factor in helping Huddersfield climb to 17th before the delay to the season.

It has been more than two months since the 2019/20 campaign was brought to a halt but there is reportedly optimism that the Championship could return in June.

Teams in the division returned to training at the start of the week and, though we have not yet had any official confirmation that his loan has been extended, Smith Rowe was back with the rest of the Huddersfield squad

The 19-year-old took to Twitter yesterday following his return to the training pitch.

A product of the Gunners academy system, the midfielder has progressed through the age-group sides at the Emirates and gone on to make 12 appearances for the senior side so far.

Smith Rowe has been touted to make an impact for the Arsenal first-team next year, with Mikel Arteta having already shown his willingness to put faith in youth, but for the time being, he remains at Huddersfield.
