Chris Hughton wants to sign Brighton striker Glenn Murray, according to the Mirror.
As first reported exclusively by us here at Football League World a week ago, the Reds are keen on the striker.
The pair worked together at Brighton, where the striker scored more than 50 goals across seasons in both the Championship and Premier League.
Ironically, following Hughton’s departure from The Amex Stadium, Murray found the net just two more times before leaving Brighton to join Watford on loan for the season.
However, his spell at Vicarage Road didn’t go to plan – with the former Crystal Palace man making just one start, and appearing just six times in total, although he remains with the Hornets, but hasn’t been involved since October.
Grabban? Ameobi? – Can you name which Nottingham Forest player scored each these 15 goals this season?
But the Mirror believe that Hughton is looking to sign Murray for the second time in his career to boost Forest’s survival hopes, especially with the City Ground outfit having scored only 20 times in their 25 Championship matches this term.
With Murray turning 38 in September, Forest fans don’t appear overwhelmed by his potential arrival.
Here’s how they reacted to the news on Twitter:
We have no aerial threat so a usful player however we have no one that can cross a ball. All hit and hope.
