‘Please god, no’, ‘Rather keep Bullen’ – Plenty of Sheffield Wednesday fans react to emerging managerial news

According to reports from The Sun, Sheffield Wednesday are interested in appointing former Middlesbrough boss Tony Pulis as their new manager if their form under Lee Bullen does not improve.

The interim manager made a strong start to life in charge of the Owls following the departure of Steve Bruce to Newcastle United, leading Wednesday to three wins in their opening four league games.

But after two league defeats on the bounce, following a 2-1 loss to QPR at Hillsborough on Saturday, Bullen’s position is now under threat, with the Owls reportedly considering a change in management.

It is claimed by The Sun that Tony Pulis, who was believed to be targeted by the Yorkshire club after Bruce left for the Magpies, is now being targeted once again.

The 61-year-old has been out of work since the end of last season after Middlesbrough chose not to extend his contract, after missing out on a place in the play-off places and falling short of promotion to the Premier League.

Boro fans quickly lost patience with the Welshman after his long-ball, direct style of play, and here, we take a look and see whether Owls fans would be happy with his appointment…
