Wolverhampton Wanderers have undoubtedly been the standout team in the Sky Bet Championship so far.

Bankrolled by Chinese conglomerate Fosun, and managed by Nuno Santo - the Black Country side are excelling and look a shoe-in for promotion.

However, the last five years haven't been that special for Wolves, with the Midlands side enduring a number of mediocre years.

With these mediocre years came a number of below-par players - In the last five years, who has been Wolves' worst defender?

We take a look.....

Alfie Burns

Looking back over the last five years, I’ll say Roger Johnson, who was part of Wolves’ squad who suffered back-to-back relegations in 2012 and 2013.

The experienced defender was simply not good enough, particularly on Wolves’ return to the Championship in 2012/13.

That year many expected more from Johnson, but he never delivered and Wolves slipped into League One.

Premier League to National League in five years, some decline for Johnson.

George Dagless

Jamie Reckord.

The defender came through with Wolves' youth sides but he just didn't get anywhere near the senior side and moved on without playing for the club.

He spent a few years on loan at different clubs and he has now wound up at Oldham Athletic.

Chris Gallagher

Given the fee and his toxic nature at the club, many fans would go for Roger Johnson.

However, if we are going strictly on performances, I'd say Kaspars Gorkks. The Latvian was awful in his loan spell at Molineux as the club were relegated to League One.

The relegation meant that Gorkks didn't join permanently, so it wasn't all bad news for Wolves fans. He was extremely poor!

Adam Simeoni

Please don't tell him I said this because he's an absolute tank, but Elokobi wasn't Wolves' brightest star.

Just 85 league appearances in six years at the club which included PL relegation, Elokobi now plies his trade in the National League with Leyton Orient.
