Middlesbrough are beginning to find form as they look to deliver on the many pre-season predictions that had the Teesside club as the team to beat.

It's no coincidence that their winning run has gone hand in hand with Martin Braithwaite returning from injury. The Danish international was a high-profile arrival in the summer but endured a tough start after an early setback.

However, he's back now and has been highly influential for Boro in recent weeks, weighing in with key goals and assists as they have moved up into the play-off positions.

With that in mind, it got us wondering, will Garry Monk be able to hold on to the former Toulouse man if Boro don't go up?

Here our writers give their verdicts...

Adam Simeoni

When Braithwaite arrived at the club, fans across Europe knew he was too good for this level and could ply his trade in the top flight.

Premier League teams will be keeping tabs on the Dane, and he could decide to move on if an offer came in.

Boro would command a serious fee however, having paid around £10 million to bring him to the Riverside in the summer.

Sam Rourke

There is a massive chance he'll be off.

The attacker is way too good for the Championship, and really ought to be plying his trade in the Premier League.

He looks a class above a lot of others, and is such an important for Garry Monk's side.

Alfie Burns

I think he would, Braithwaite is that good. For me, the forward is playing at a false level, and his impact since he returned to full fitness is proving that.

Middlesbrough are far better with Braithwaite in the number 10 role, with Monk’s side having far more attacking threat.

Promotion is a must if Boro want to keep Braithwaite at the Riverside,

George Dagless

I think he could.

I was impressed when Boro signed Braithwaite as he looked the kind of player who could play in the Premier League.

That was obviously Boro's strategy to help them return ASAP but if they don't I think some might come calling.
