Former Leicester City striker Ahmed Musa has said that it is unlikely that he is going to be joining Sheffield Wednesday any time soon, as quoted by BBC Africa.

The Owls earned their first point under Tony Pulis on Wednesday evening as they drew 1-1 with Swansea City and the former Stoke boss will be looking at ways he can improve the side in the January window, and even before that.

Indeed, Musa, a free agent, would be one player the Owls could bring in in order to bolster their attack without having to wait but the Nigerian international has said there's nothing in the story.

He revealed:

"I don't know where the story [potential move to Sheffield] is coming from because I don't pay attention to rumours and gossip.

"With due respect to the club, I left Saudi Arabia to continue my career at the top level in Europe and that's the ambition."

The Verdict

A pretty categorical 'no' from Musa there then and it seems unlikely that we'll see him in a Wednesday shirt any time soon.

Up next for the Owls it's their first home game of the Pulis era as they take on one of his former sides in the shape of Stoke City.

The attackers that do feature, then, will be eager to show him he doesn't need to add to his forward line though that is perhaps a tad fanciful given how short the Owls are in terms of out and out strikers currently in their squad.
