Leeds United head to Middlesbrough this weekend with many focusing their concentration on them after last time out.

A loss to Norwich has left many wondering what's going to happen next and, for sure, results have taken a turn for the worse in recent weeks.

Are they getting jaded? Pontus Jansson's comments earlier this week suggested that they might be - though he has sought to clarify them.

Jansson said to podcast Fotbollsexperterna:

“The worst thing for us is that you can sometimes feel tired before the match because we work so intensely.

"He (Bielsa) has a philosophy that if you are tired you should train even harder to make it better. He has that philosophy and won’t change.

“We thought he would understand after a while that the league is a bit tougher and that you sometimes have to be a little smarter about how to train but he has not changed anything, just driven on almost even harder. He has his philosophy and does not let it go.”

However, he has also praised Bielsa for being one of the best in the world, so in a way perhaps he's saying that that commitment to his approach is to be praised. He doesn't waver and eventually it'll lead to success.

Either way, the comments will have some talking and so we're going to try and dissect how certain aspects of the club might be feeling about Bielsa's training regime...

First-team

Well, the old saying is there's no smoke without fire.

Let's not be hasty, the players have clearly enjoyed their time under Bielsa and you would given his pedigree but there does seem to be some tiredness in there.

The players are apparently content, but they seem aware of the problems that could come about. Could.

Will they stop doing what he asks, though? Not on your life.

Coaching staff and Bielsa

Without wanting to sound too abrupt, you doubt Bielsa will care too much - he's never changed and he's never going to. It's to be admired in many ways, but many have also questioned it - he's got some to prove wrong this season for sure.

The coaches behind him might take certain comments on board but who are they to question the Argentine - there's little set to change in this area.

Fans

Leeds fans, more than most, want to see their players working their socks off and going through the mill to get success.

They will be pleased that their players are working so hard and in light of Jansson's clarification that should continue - perhaps there's a niggling thought, though, given recent form and the initial comments themselves that there's something in this?

Board

The board are happy with Bielsa you get the feeling and it's not really their area to get involved.

Of course, if players start to get really annoyed and a fracture appears there's an issue but there's no sign of that for now.

Leeds fans, what have you made of it all? Are you worried about burnout or are you pleased the players are working extra hard to try and go up? Let us know!
