Queens Park Rangers star Luke Freeman has spoken out after being linked with Leeds United in recent weeks, reports West London Sport.

The 26-year old has flourished under Steve McClaren this season, and has been by far and away the R's' standout performer having scored eight goals and produced four assists.

The playmaker caught the eye against Leeds United a fortnight ago, scoring the winning goal in a comfortable 1-0 win over the Whites - and the player has since been linked with a move to Elland Road after his impressive display against Marcelo Bielsa's men.

But, speaking after the R's' 0-0 draw with Stoke City at the weekend, Freeman insisted that he is only focusing on QPR, amid links to the promotion-chasing Whites.

He said: "I'm not concentrating on that at all."

"We've got 10 games left of the season, the most important thing is QPR - so I will concentrate on QPR picking up points and winning games."

Leeds' hopes of an automatic promotion finish are still well and truly on after an impressive 1-0 away win against Bristol City at the weekend.

Bielsa's men currently sit 2nd in the Sky Bet Championship table, two points off top spot.

The Verdict

We often see players say these type of things when they have been linked with a move away to a big club like Leeds.

Freeman has been fantastic for QPR this season and the club will be desperate to keep him, but it will be hard to so if Leeds go up this season.

Freeman would be daft to turn down a move to Leeds - they are a massive club and play great football under Bielsa, and he'd surely go straight into the starting 11 too.
