Yoann Barbet is nearing a return to action for Queens Park Rangers.

The Frenchman, who joined in the summer after his contract at Brentford had run out, has been absent since October.

He sustained a fairly serious muscle injury but QPR boss Mark Warburton has this week said that he's back out on the training field, and that he'll be featuring for the development squad before he's considered for the first-team.

Here's what Barbet posted on his Instagram today:

Barbet, 26, has featured 12 times in the Championship for QPR. He's over 100 appearances at Brentford to his name, and was present at the club when Warburton was.

He may have a task in regaining his spot back in the side though - Grant Hall was handed the captaincy at the start of the season and having played 22 times already in the league this season, he finally looks to be back at his best.

Also there's Conor Masterson to contend with. The 21-year-old has had to be patient for his chance, but he was given it against Swansea earlier in the month and he hasn't looked back since - in 225-minutes of football that Masterson has played for QPR, they've conceded just once.

Barbet was a cult-figure at Brentford and has had a similar impact of QPR fans - he's a player with good ability and work-rate, but always has a mistake in him, often in the form of a penalty.

His return though will only bolster the defence and give Warburton some much-needed options heading into the second-half of the season.
