Bolton Wanderers full-back Josh Emmanuel has indicated that he is keen to extend his stay with the Trotters past the end of the 2019/20 campaign and many fans of the North West club have revealed they'd love the club to keep hold of him.

The 22-year-old joined Bolton in September, signing a one-season deal with the League One club soon after he'd been released by Ipswich Town.

Emmanuel has been a regular fixture in Keith Hill's side this term, making 31 appearances in total, but with his current deal set to expire in the summer, his future remains unclear.

It appears the right-back is keen to remain at the club, however, as he revealed in an interview with Footysays on YouTube that he was optimistic a deal could be done.

He said: "Hopefully, we'll see what happens after this pandemic.

"Every club has been hit traumatically financially, so it's a real tough period for them. The owners are good people but money talks, so we'll see."

It looks set to be an interesting summer for Bolton, who are bottom of League One as it stands and will likely be playing in the division below next term.

It appears bringing back Emmanuel is a piece of business that Trotters fans are keen to see get done as many have revealed in their response to the Bolton News journalist Marc Iles' question about the 22-year-old on Twitter.
