Aris striker Brown Ideye addressed his future at the club amid reports linking him with a move to Nottingham Forest.

Ideye, 31, was linked with a move to Nottingham Forest last month.

The Nigerian forward plays in the Greek Super League with Aris, having previously represented the likes of Dynamo Kyiv, West Brom, Olympiacos and Malaga, but is set to leave Aris in the summer when his contracts expires.

Speaking on his future, Greek outlet Gazetta quoted him as saying on Yellow Radio:

"Now that I’m an Aris player, I respect that. When we get to the transfers we will see."

Ideye has scored nine goals in all competitions this season, but notched double figures in both his seasons at Olympiacos, who are also owned by Forest chairman Evangelos Marinakis.

“There are a lot of rumours and I'm not surprised about that," Ideye continued. "I'm not thinking about it next season, before we finish this year.

“In the end we will discuss with the president to see if I will stay or not. At the moment I can't answer with a yes or a no."

The 2014/15 season with West Brom is Ideye's only to date in England. Signing from Kyiv, Ideye became West Brom's record signing at the time, in a deal worth over £11 million.

But after one season in the Premier League, Ideye managed to score just four goals, and he left for Olympiacos the following season.

The verdict

This is a player with both Champions League and international experience. He's clearly a talented player, but all that English fans have to go on is his disappointing spell at West Brom.

At 31 as well, his years may be limited, but Sabri Lamouchi may feel he can get a few good seasons out of him yet - it'll be interesting to see how and whether this move materialises.
