Leeds United youngster Clarke Odour has signed a new deal with the club until 2020, and he has expressed his feelings to finalising formalities.

The 19-year-old took to social media after agreeing on a new one-year-deal a month after making his senior debut for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

Odour made his professional bow in the FA Cup defeat against Queens Park Rangers after coming on as an 87th-minute substitute.

And now he has a new deal under his belt and could not hold back his happiness upon putting pen-to-paper.

The winger said via Twitter: “Delighted to have signed a new deal with Leeds United, thank you to everyone who has supported me.”

He will now look to make himself a more regular fixture in the side at Elland Road between now and when his contract is set to run out to get a new one and progress even further.

Good news for the club to secure the future of a promising player.

Bielsa had had time to look at the young players and has been able to assess him.

He could well have a bright future at the club and tying him down to a new deal could be a masterstroke by the club to do so.

After making his debut and getting a taste of first-team football, he will be hoping to achieve that more in the coming weeks and months now his immediate future is secure.
