Burnley are playing their football in the Championship from next season and new boss Vincent Kompany has already signed a wealth of players for them this offseason.

The club played in the Premier League for six seasons before finally being relegated back down to the second tier back in May. Now, with the Clarets preparing for time back in the Championship, their new boss is ensuring the squad is ready for the new campaign.

With the club snapping up plenty of fresh faces and tying up lots of new deals, there is still plenty happening around Turf Moor as the summer transfer window continues.

Here then, are the latest Burnley headlines that you might have missed.

Young Burnley player set for the exit door

One of the latest names to be heading out the exit door is Joel Mumbongo, who was told he could leave the club upon the expiry of his deal.

He's left the Clarets having never really featured in their first-team picture but he won't be without a club for long, with Football League World exclusive sources revealing that Tranmere are set to snap him up on a deal.

The League Two outfit will be aiming for a promotion back to the third tier this summer and even though the player has only four appearances for Burnley and ten for Accrington Stanley to his name during his career, they see him as a solid signing this offseason.

Phillips a player in demand, with Shrewsbury plotting bid

Burnley have a whole host of clubs on their hands who are eager to try and sign Adam Phillips on a transfer deal this summer.

Now, another club have entered the race for his signature, with the Shropshire Star reporting that Shrewsbury are planning a move for the player too. He's got plenty of experience throughout the EFL already, with the midfielder having played in 60 League One outings and 40 more League Two outings in his career so far.

He impressed and became a regular with Morecambe over the last two seasons and also looked fairly solid for Accrington Stanley too. Now, the clubs are queuing up for his signature and Shrewsbury want to try and seal a short-term deal for the player.

Blackpool offer update over future of Burnley target

One player the Clarets have been trying to bring to Turf Moor recently is Jordan Gabriel - but it appears there has been nothing concrete yet.

According to Lancs Live, the defender hasn't had any official bids made for his services and it appears that the extent of Burnley's interest in the player is just that for now - interest.

Michael Appleton said that there was 'not news' over a potential switch from the Seasiders to Burnley this transfer window yet and that the defender would, for now, seemingly stay with the club because there has yet to be an offer.

However, the player certainly does seem to have interest in his services from Vincent Kompany's side according to The Sun - so it might be a case of when a bid happens, rather than if one happens, this transfer window.
