Sunderland left themselves on the brink of relegation to League One as they once again chucked away a lead and drew 2-2 at Reading to more or less put one foot in the third tier.

It was just not to be for Chris Coleman's men, who had fought back from behind to take a 2-1 lead, only to once again allow the home side back into the game and chuck away what could be a crucial three points and more or less consigned the club to League One.

The Black Cats have had a miserable season overall, and this result at the Royals today more or less just sums up their season on the whole, which has seen them endure a nightmare start under former manager Simon Grayson, while new manager Coleman has failed to turn round fortunes too.

Following the game, there was a sombre mood among the Sunderland fans, who were left gutted to see the club with one foot in League One.
