‘Planning that trip to Accrington’ – Sunderland fans consigning themselves to League One following Reading draw

Published

on

Sunderland left themselves on the brink of relegation to League One as they once again chucked away a lead and drew 2-2 at Reading to more or less put one foot in the third tier.

It was just not to be for Chris Coleman’s men, who had fought back from behind to take a 2-1 lead, only to once again allow the home side back into the game and chuck away what could be a crucial three points and more or less consigned the club to League One.

The Black Cats have had a miserable season overall, and this result at the Royals today more or less just sums up their season on the whole, which has seen them endure a nightmare start under former manager Simon Grayson, while new manager Coleman has failed to turn round fortunes too.

Following the game, there was a sombre mood among the Sunderland fans, who were left gutted to see the club with one foot in League One.

We at FLW were on hand to check out what was being said among the Black Cats fans, and it does not make good reading for the North East club…
