Sheffield Wednesday are deep in the midst of an injury crisis, which is hampering Jos Luhukay's ability to drag the club away from relegation trouble in the latter part of the season.

Having made the play-off semi finals last season, it has been a dreadful campaign for Wednesday and the best that Luhukay can hope for as the final months of the term draw in is that his side is comfortably safe from relegation.

Everyone connected with the club will hope that second tier status is confirmed and done so sooner rather than later.

One reason for that is that transfer plans are much easier to formulate when it is clear which division a club will be playing in next season and it has already been a big task for Luhukay to assess his squad in his short tenure.

Adthe Nuhiu netted Wednesday's goal in Saturday's Yorkshire derby clash with Barnsley but we at FLW feel that there are upgrades available on the transfer market in the summer.

We have taken a closer look at two of the available options...

Baldock can score goals in the Championship - his eleven strikes last season as Brighton were promoted to the Premier League are testament to that - but has found his gametime limited during the Seagulls' debut season in the top flight.

The return of Leonardo Ulloa to the Amex Stadium has pushed the former West Ham man further down the pecking order and a summer move could be just what he needs to get his confidence and form back.

He is a more effective option than Nuhiu and could form a good relationship with Gary Hooper if this deal gets done.

Armstrong has had a series of loan spells in his career and is currently at League One high-fliers Blackburn Rovers until the end of the season.

He is a livewire and a goalscorer, who, given a run of games in his correct position, I believe will score goals in the Championship.

He would be a totally different option to Nuhiu as he is smaller in stature but never stops running and I believe that's the kind of player Wednesday will need next season to avoid enduring another disappointing campaign.
