There has been a big overturn of players at Loftus Road over the last five years, with Queens Park Rangers featuring in both the Premier League and Sky Bet Championship.

The 2013/14 campaign saw Harry Redknapp deliver a promotion back to the Premier League via the play-offs, with Bobby Zamora striking an unforgettable Wembley winner against Derby County.

However, QPR’s top-flight return was a brief one, with the club suffering relegation back to the Championship the following year.

Since then, the Loftus Road outfit have failed to mount another serious push for promotion in the Championship, with a large pool of players passing through the club.

QPR are now managed by Ian Holloway, who last season guided the club to safety in the Championship, and looks like doing so again this year, with the Rs currently sitting 16th and seemingly heading for another mid-table finish.

Here at FLW, we take a look back at the last five years and pick QPR’s best XI…

Smithies is the current goalkeeper at Loftus Road, and during his time with the club has developed into one of the Championship’s standout goalkeepers.

Although more high-profile goalkeepers have passed through Loftus Road in the last five years, Smithies is deserving of a place.

Simpson made 41 appearances for QPR during his time with the club, and following his departure he has gone on to win the Premier League at Leicester City.

A real quality right-back.

Perhaps not the best defender ability-wise to be at Loftus Road in the last five years, but his commitment to QPR sees Onuoha make this XI.

Like Onuoha, better defenders have graced Loftus Road, however, Hill was influential in helping QPR to the Premier League.

A popular figure in recent years.

The 28-year-old featured during QPR’s promotion winning campaign back in 2013/14, and then contributed to the club’s top-flight return.

Still involved elsewhere in the Championship and currently aiding Cardiff City’s promotion charge.

A controversial figure, however, his impact at Loftus Road must be applauded, as he was terrific for the club.

A real classy midfielder that was excellent for QPR – particularly in the Championship.

Phillips was, and still is, an extremely dangerous winger.

During his time at QPR he probably failed to find his best often enough, however, he makes this XI on what he has shown before and after his spell at Loftus Road.

Although he was more influential at Loftus Road during Neil Warnock’s spell as manager, it is hard to leave Taarabt out of this XI.

On his day, he is perhaps the best player to play for QPR over the last decade.

Currently Hoilett is the driving force behind Cardiff’s promotion push under Warncok, and QPR will wish they still had the winger available to them.

Austin has gone on to establish himself in the Premier League following his spell at QPR.

A natural goalscorer, who just edges out 2014’s play-off hero, Zamora.
