The January transfer window is now closer to its shutting than opening but there are still plenty of twists and turns surely on the way.

Indeed, you often find it is in the second half of the window where things start to get a bit more hectic as clubs up and down get that little bit more desperate to make moves happen.

And, that in mind, it seems as though Bournemouth are looking to try and nick one of Brentford's key men - Chris Mepham.

Indeed, as per Mark McAdam on Twitter, the Cherries are in talks with the Bees over the potential transfer:

McAdam knows the score down at the Vitality Stadium so it seems as though the south coast side is well in with a chance of taking the highly-rated centre half.

The Verdict

Mepham is a fine defender and his future could certainly lie in the Premier League.

Brentford would have hoped that that would be with them but they have had a tough season so far and though the play-offs aren't out of the question, their form always opened the door for such opportunities.

It remains to be seen whether or not this goes through of course, but it seems as though it's looking more than possible.
