Huddersfield Town are closing in on the signing of Reading star Danny Williams as they enter advanced discussions over the move, according to Sky Sports News HQ.

Danny Williams is out of contract with Reading and is therefore available to discuss his future with other clubs.

Huddersfield are plotting a move to take the impressive central-midfielder to the Premier League with them, after he was part of the Reading side who were beaten by the Terriers on penalties in the Championship play-off final just over a month ago.

Since winning promotion, Huddersfield Town have been very busy in the transfer window.

David Wagner has immediately been improving his options ahead of their survival bid next season and has snapped up four players already: Aaron Mooy and Elias Kachuga have signed permanent deals, Laurent Depoitre joins from FC Porto and Jonas Lossl arrives on loan from Mainz.

In addition, Huddersfield are looking to complete deals for Tom Ince and Steve Mounie while looking to bring back Chelsea loan duo Kasey Palmer and Izzy Brown.

Reading are set to lose Danny Williams for nothing as he opts to move to the Premier League.

The USA international has been the linchpin in the Royals' midfield for several years now since joining the club from Hoffenheim in 2013.

Huddersfield look set to snap up the 28-year-old if personal terms can be agreed and if he passes his medical.
