In what has been a season of transition and change, Wolves have had a disappointing campaign as they sit in 21st place, just a single point and place above the relegation zone.

After an excellent start to the season under Walter Zenga, it seems to be an age away from the positivity and expectations some had for Wolves at the start of the season.

Wolves' most recent defeat to Reading was their sixth consecutive defeat with only Bristol City having a longer consecutive losing streak.

Wolves' extremely poor form has seen Paul Lambert come under more and more scrutiny as Wolves are dragged into a relegation dogfight.

Despite the inconsistency and relegation concerns, there have been some players who have stood out and have begun attracting attention from the Premier League.

FLW writer Elliott Wheat-Bowen looks at TWO Wolves stars who appear to be Premier League bound and who will be in the top-flight before you know it...

Helder Costa

As part of the transformation in the summer which saw an influx of players, Helder Costa joined Wolves from S.L Benfica on a season-long loan.

The 23-year-old left winger has shouldered the responsibility as Wolves' leading attacking outlet as he has contributed directly to 18 goals, the Portuguese winger has scored ten times and provided eight assists.

After Costa's scintillating first half of the season, Premier League sides began circling around Helder Costa in the January transfer window.

However, Wolves issued a serious statement of intent when they secured the 23-year-old's services on a permanent basis.

Despite being tied down on a four-year contract at Wolves, it appears that the interest in Helder Costa will continue to intensify and he is inevitably Premier League bound.

In the summer, Wolves could face real difficulty keeping the Portuguese winger at the club, especially if Costa's head is turned by the amount of top-flight interest in him.

Ivan Cavaleiro

Although Helder Costa has taken all the plaudits, Ivan Cavaleiro has quietly impressed as he sailed under the radar, Cavaleiro has shown his talent and quality as he was one of the marquee signings of the Portuguese revolution at the club.

The arrival of Ivan Cavaleiro from Monaco appeared to be an enormous coup for the Championship side, the summer before saw the  Portuguese winger make a big-money move to Monaco.

However, after a single season at the Ligue 1 giants where he made twelve appearances for Leonardo Jardim's side, he made another multi-million pound move to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

This season, the Portuguese international has scored four times and provided four assists in the Championship as one of Wolves' most creative players.

Considering that Ivan Cavaleiro has been as effective as he has been in a struggling side is impressive, if Cavaleiro is surrounded by players of a higher calibre, he could thrive and prosper.

The extremely talented 23-year-old winger who was linked with a move to the Premier League before joining Wolves could make the move to the top-flight if he begins to attract attention from the Premier League once again.
