2017 so far couldn’t have got any better for Cardiff City, as they have dramatically turned round their season in what started out as a complete disaster.

Since the turn of the year, the Bluebirds have won seven out of their last eleven Championship games, a run that has seen them soar up the table from 19th to 12th place, which should ensure their place in the league next season.

Since Warnock has come into the manager’s post, the squad’s confidence has been significantly boosted and we are now starting to see glimpses of quality that the supporters have been craving for the past few years.

Even though the Bluebirds’ form is sky high at the moment, it is unlikely that they will make the top six due to the large points gap from them and Sheffield Wednesday in 6th place.

Warnock deciding to stay at the club will breathe a huge sigh of relief. However, his job in the summer will be to not only bring quality into the squad, but to hold onto his best players.

Premier League sides have been known to dip into the Championship market for players, and there may be a few members of the Cardiff squad who will be tempted to test themselves in the top-flight.

FLW writer, Ashley Williams identifies TWO Cardiff players who will be in the top-flight before you know it..

Kenneth Zohore

We only started witnessing Kenneth Zohore’s potential when he bagged himself a goal in Cardiff’s Boxing Day draw with Brentford.

Ever since then, he has bagged himself seven goals.

If he carries on this type of form, a Premier League side looking for a powerful striker could see Zohore as a potential transfer target in the summer.

Aron Gunnarsson

The Icelandic captain is regarded as one of the Bluebirds’ most indispensable members of the squad.

He has shown great loyalty to the club amid strong interest from the likes of Aston Villa last year.

As we witnessed with David Marshall last year, arguably one of Cardiff’s greatest ever goalkeepers, that if an opportunity arises from a top-flight club, then it is particularly hard for a player from the Championship to turn that down.

Gunnarsson certainly has all the abilities to succeed in the Premier League and could make a great asset to the majority of teams in the division.
