Leeds United completed one of the results of the weekend in the Championship after beating title-chasers Brighton and Hove Albion at Elland Road.

Garry Monk's side won 2-0 thanks to a double from the ever-reliable Chris Wood, who keeps on scoring as Leeds continue their push towards the summit of the Championship.

The win, their 21st of the season, was arguably their most impressive, against a side that have comfortably beaten dozens of teams throughout the campaign.

A packed-out Elland Road crowd roared them onto a second-half victory and meant Brighton failed to return to the top of the table, thanks to Newcastle's point earned away at struggling Birmingam City.

But following the win in Yorkshire, we think Leeds have a very good chance of getting through the play-offs, based on what we saw this weekend.

So with that in mind, here's THREE reasons Leeds United will storm the play-offs after their comprehensive win over the Seagulls...

They won't be beaten easily at home

Home comforts is certainly something Whites fans should be relying on when it comes to the legged play-off ties.

Frequently roared on by up to 30,000 passionate supporters, this is certainly one of the most intimidating and hostile places to go in the division.

Whoever has to come to Elland Road come May will find it hard to deal with and you'd fancy Leeds to get a win in their home leg at least.

Chris Wood is the division's best striker

Chris Wood's double, his 23rd and 24th strikes of the season, helped Leeds to victory this weekend and it's not the first time we've seen the New Zealand man be the difference this campaign.

He can single-handedly win his team games and has scored 24 of his side's 52 goals this season - stunning figures which completely show how good he's been this campaign.

Compared with the past, their defence has been solid

The difference for the Whites this season has been their defence, who have been absolutely fantastic.

In recent seasons, Leeds might have scored enough goals to get amongst the play-off places but unfortunately, they've leaked far too many goals in return.

This campaign has been an entirely different story and to secure a clean sheet against one of the most prolific sides in the division is a real testament to how good they've been at times too.
