In their first season back in the Championship, Sheffield United defied expectation to mount a promotion challenge.

For much of the season, it looked like Sheffield United might be set to achieve a play-off finish but some poor end of season form meant they had to settle for a top half finish instead.

But now that Chris Wilder's future has been sorted and all speculation of his exit has been put to bed, Sheffield United fans will be eagerly anticipating this summer's transfer activity and another promotion bid next term.

One player Sheffield United have been linked with is Kasey Palmer and this would be a fantastic addition.

Chelsea are likely to let the attacking midfielder leave on loan again as he is not quite ready to break into their first-team but he would be an asset for any Championship side.

The 21-year-old is able to play on either wing or in a central role and he contributes with a goal threat, the ability to create chances for team-mates and sublime skill on the ball.

While at Huddersfield Town, Palmer won promotion via the play-offs so he knows what it takes to get to the top flight.

And this season, he helped Derby County finish sixth in the Championship table, meaning he has led his loan sides to the play-offs for two consecutive seasons.

The Blades need a bit of creativity in midfield and the England under-21 international would be a superb signing on a season-long loan deal.
