Peterborough United’s Marcus Maddison could be on his way out of the London Road club this summer as with only a year remaining on his current deal, the player has been transfer listed as per the club’s internal policy.

Maddison was phenomenal for Peterborough last season, recording a league high 17 assists, and averages a goal every four games from the wing since his move to Peterborough in 2014.

The 23-year-old will surely be a target for Championship sides this summer, with stats as impressive as Maddison’s extremely hard to ignore for second tier bosses.

One potential destination for Maddison is Brentford, with the Bees boasting an impressive history in plucking stars from the lower leagues and turning them into Championship and Premier League regulars.

With midfielder Konstantin Kerschbaumer set for a loan move to the 2. Bundesliga with Arminia Bielefeld, a position has opened up in the attacking midfield role at Griffin Park, and Maddison could be the perfect addition to the squad.

In a side that already boasts Spanish maestros Jota and Sergi Canos, Maddison would be sure to shine amongst the impressive Spaniards, and would lay on further goals in a Bee's side that already smashed a remarkable 75 strikes last year.

Maddison’s phenomenal left foot would fit in nicely at Griffin Park, and with young full back Rico Henry, the pair could forge a devastating partnership down the left flank.

Striker Lasse Vibe is already blessed with an arsenal of creative talent laying on the goals, and the addition of Maddison would only add to the Dane’s tally.

If boss Dean Smith can pull off a deal, then Brentford will be deadly next season.
