A picture posted on verified Twitter account, @Sporx, has indicated that Souleymane Doukara has completed his move away from Leeds United, linking up with Turkish outfit, Osmanlispor.

The picture and caption show Doukara in Osmanlispor’s kit, and suggest that he has agreed a two-year deal with the Turkish club, who finished 13th in the top-flight last season.

Reports emerged earlier this week suggesting that Doukara’s time at Leeds was coming to an end, with the forward missing Leeds’ Carabao Cup clash with Newport County due to speculation surrounding his future.

There was interest from Italy and England in the 25-year-old, but Osmanlispor appear to have won the race for his signature, ending Doukara’s three-year spell in the Sky Bet Championship.

During his time at Elland Road, Doukara has made 93 appearances across all competitions, scoring 18 goals, including 14 in the Championship.

His most prolific goalscoring season came during the 2014/15 campaign, but his performance last season, under Garry Monk, was much improved.

Doukara featured on 39 occasions across all competitions last season, scoring six goals and helping Leeds finish the year seventh in the table, narrowly outside the play-offs.

So far this season, Doukara has not featured under Thomas Christiansen.

The Verdict

This move was expected, with Doukara’s opportunities at Elland Road looking limited, and him having just one year remaining on his contract with Leeds.

After a slow start to life in England, Doukara eventually found some consistency in the Championship under Monk last season.

However, Leeds have moved on, with some exciting attacking options now at Elland Road, and a move away from Elland Road appears to be best for both Doukara and Leeds.
