Derby County boss Phillip Cocu has revealed the extent of Jack Marriott’s injury suffered against Middlesbrough on Saturday.
After a fairly solid run of the Christmas period, the Rams travelled to face Jonathan Woodgate’s Boro side looking to further improve their form.
Despite Cocu’s hopes of sealing another win, Lewis Wing was having none of it as he opened the scoring in the 16th minute for the home side.
Youngster Jason Knight would reply just before the hour mark, but Paddy McNair’s spot kick put the home side back in front and it looked increasingly likely that Boro would steal the win.
That was until the 91st minute when United States international Duane Holmes levelled the game and ensured a point for the Rams.
One notable absence from the game was Jack Marriott, who was ruled out through injury, and Derby boss Cocu has lifted the lid on his recovery and availability.
“He has got a minor muscle injury, again,” Cocu told reporters, as cited by Derby Telegraph. “We hope he can be available for the Hull game, but will be doubtful.”

Marriott has improved lately so his absence will be costly for Cocu as the Dutch coach looks to improve on their league standing.
Derby need to pick up points but the draw against Boro was a good one and Cocu should take nothing but positives from his side’s reaction and performance.
Marriott looks likely to recover in time for the Hull game, which will be a must-win game for Derby.
