Derby County boss Phillip Cocu has revealed his frustration at the club's injury situation right now but admitted it's just something they have to get on with.

Talented right-back Jayden Bogle has missed the past two games for the Rams whilst striker Jack Marriott missed most of pre-season with a thigh injury which is why he has only been used as a sub for the league campaign so far.

As well as that, Duano Holmes, Craig Forsyth and Andre Wisdom are all yet to play for the east Midlands outfit this season.

That has left the Dutchman with a problem at right-back, with the let-sided Max Lowe playing in that position as they lost to Bristol City at Pride Park last night.

And, Cocu told Derbyshire Live that there's nothing they can do but he admitted it is a problem and hopes the injury crisis will ease in the coming months.

"It is something we have to deal with. We have to accept it because it is part of a season. Hopefully, we will not have too many injuries because at the moment we have had some, and we will need everybody."

The Verdict

It is always a frustration for managers when they lose players through injury and Cocu is clearly no different.

He will have a style of play and approach that he wants from the team but if key individuals are missing it can be difficult to implement those ideas.

Of course, it's also a real annoyance to the players, particularly at this time of the year as missing pre-season can be a big issue.

But, Derby have a good squad and there's still a lot of talent for the ex-PSV chief to choose from and they are not exactly in a situation where he is relying on kids.
