Phillip Cocu has insisted that Kelle Roos isn't immune from being dropped from the Derby County starting line-up, as his poor form continued on Tuesday night.

The 27-year-old has been an everpresent for the Rams this season, starting in every single one of their 18 Championship matches thus far and establishing himself as their number-one ahead of Ben Hamer.

The Dutchman has come under real criticism this season, though, after producing a few shaky performances in-between the sticks.

On Tuesday night, he could have definitely commanded his box a lot better as the Rams crashed to a 3-0 defeat against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Cocu was clearly a frustrated man in his post-match press conference, where he hinted that Roos could well be dropped from the Derby starting XI if he doesn't improve anytime soon.

Via the Athletic's Ryan Conway, Cocu insisted that he is just like any other player, in that he could be axed from the side if he doesn't improve in his performances.

After their defeat to the Cottagers in midweek, Derby now sit 13th in the Sky Bet Championship standings, however they could find themselves lower down in the table with another round of fixtures set to be played tonight.

The Verdict

I think Roos needs to seriously step up his game sooner rather than later.

This is a really big season for him - he's already 27 years of age, yet he hasn't really had a regular run of games and a full season for Derby, and his somewhat lack of experience is showing.

Ben Hamer must be wondering what on Earth he has to do in order to get a game right now.
