Derby County boss Phillip Cocu has warned his side that they will face a very good side when they come up against Luton Town at Pride Park tomorrow.

The newly-promoted Hatters are one point and one place behind the Rams going into the game, however they have impressed on their return to the Championship, playing some impressive football in recent weeks.

And, Cocu recognised that and outlined the threat they will pose when speaking to the club's media.

"They are physical and play at a high tempo. They have three wins so we cannot think we will win easily. We have to respect their qualities and prepare well but we have the quality to get a good result."

The east Midlands outfit go into the game on the back of a disappointing draw at Barnsley, with the Tykes securing a point thanks to a very late equaliser.

That means Derby have won just once since the opening day of the season, although they will take encouragement from the fact they've lost just once on their own patch so far.

The verdict

There's no doubt that Derby need a win right now and some may see the visit of a newly-promoted side as exactly the sort of fixture they need.

But, as Cocu says, Luton are a good team with clear qualities so this is going to be a real test for his team and it will be interesting to see how the game plays out.

So, the Rams will need to be at their best but it's obviously a game they can win.
